Don't Stop Now [Closed; Two Party]

Rowan didn't know that she would have ended up teaming up with someone for this first boss battle. Someone had told it was easy enough, but she felt like giving assistance to the girl that couldn't make it through on her own the first time.

The ranger looked behind her to make sure the Cleric was still behind her as they stood in front of the gate. She looked back to the gate. What would be waiting for them? Rowan's grip on her bow tightened in her hand. "You ready for this?" The appearing genderless person asked her companion.

This would be Claire's second attempt in trying to clear the first level but the cleric was more confident now since she had a partner in the battle. Mistakes were made when she first tried to battle Richter alone as a cleric but she learned many things from her first battle. As she followed Rowan she nodded her heart race pumping. "Oh yeahhh" She answered confidently holding onto her cross.

Unfortunately for Claire, the gatekeeper awaiting for her was not the Wicken that she had battled before. Richter was old news. the new hip and sexy gatekeeper has replaced him A figure coated in feathers awaited them, the humanoid body spreading wings. The face was reminiscent of a bird, but it was clear that he was scowling, expression in perpetual anger as he looked at the approaching players. An ear-splitting screech filled the air, and without giving the two a chance to react or analyze their predicament, he readied his spear and took flight.

Rowan flinched when the screech came. She wasn't expecting that at all. She braced herself for something that never came. She opened her eyes and looked at the human bird in the sky. Lucky for her she had a bow. "Good thing I have a bow." She remarked with a slight southern accent.

The ranger pulled out and arrow and placed it on the draw string. She quickly drew back and aimed for the bird. She quickly let the arrow fly hoping to hit the creature.

She had an advantage if they were fighting with Richter since Claire fought with him before but as she heard some sort of screech coming from the gate she realized that they would not be fighting with Richter. As she looked towards the sky Claire saw some sort of bird thing flying towards them, what even was that?

She glanced towards Rowan and nodded it was a good thing Rowan was a ranger hopefully Rowan would be able to hurt the birds wing and they would be able to fight it on the ground.

"Too slow," the birdman screeched, dodging the arrow that Rowan had flung into the air, swerving through and slicing the sky before taking a nose dive towards the one was standing around and doing little for the fight. Masterfully, he drew his spear back before rapidly making quick stabs at Claire, wings spread out to block out any interference from outside.

Rowan quickly had loaded another arrow when her first one didn't hit, but it was hard to get and aim when the bird was moving sharply. When he had aimed at Claire with his spear, the ranger took the chance to strike. She quickly launched another arrow aiming for the bird man's back as he lashed out at the cleric.

Claire gritted her teeth when Rowan's arrow missed, the bird sure moved quick in the sky they were vulnerable on the ground they had to find some sort of shelter or something.. Claire was quickly pulled out of her thoughts as the bird dove towards her. Huffing she tried to block the spear as much as she could but she managed to get scratched up. She quickly leapt away her hand pressing against the wound as she quickly healed it.

Oh, so this one was the healer? Watching as the wounds he inflicted slowly healed up, the gatekeeper let out another shriek as the arrow embedded into his back. In a fury, he dug his talons into Claire's shoulders, lifting her up into the air with him. All the same, he was still able to move with the same mobility as before. Just now with a hostage.

Well that was just a situation now wasn't it? It would be hard for her to hit the boss without bringing some damage to Claire. This part was on Claire, couldn't she use a skill of some sort to bring the bird down so she would be safe? What was Rowan supposed to do in this situation... She had an arrow ready but it was hard to determine if she should risk the shot or not.

Claire let out a yelp as the birds claws dug into her skin, her eyes widening as the bird flew back into the sky. Her eyes closed shut she didn't really like heights but after awhile she soon opened them trying to do everything to break free. With a annoyed groan she yelled towards Rowan. "Don't worry about me Rowan! Take the shot!" Claire hollered towards her.

"Hostages should be quiet," he responded, digging his talons into the cleric's shoulder even deeper than before. His arms were still available, and with them, he kept on guard, his spear ready to block off arrows that may come flying up.

Rowan watched on trying to aim her arrows right to hit the bird man. Her eyes flicking to an orb that popped up around her. Oh yeah her passive skill. Though she didn't know if that would be of use.. She decided to risk it. She applied the orb to her shot, and aimed up well enough that it would be going towards the man and not her companion.

Claire gritted her teeth in pain as his talons dug deeper into her shoulders. There wasn't much she could do other then.. She began to pound the bird's feet with her cross although it was difficult and painful since his talons were in her shoulders. She got a few good hits in there hoping that it would distract him from Rowans attack.

With both the arrow heading towards him and the girl banging her cross on his talons, the gatekeeper screeched, only trying to make his voice sound deeper, "Stop that! That's annoying, you stupid little--" Oh, right, the arrow. In a moment of distraction, he realized the arrow was growing nearer, and without enough time to fly up so that Claire would take the hit instead, it went off mid-way - both at his chest and Claire's forehead.
