Scene 1.

Entropy. It had all began with entropy. Stillness, a sudden black engulfing the peripheral. Muffling amongst the sea of noise, the silhouette yearning for freedom. Fragile, it would seem; this precious moment. Yet, despite it's swift intentions, it would be forever engraved into one's eternal compendium...Or would it? Nervousness swept it so, this feminine frame. Pacing back and forth, rehearsing motions and sways performed a plethora of times across the span of months. It was now or never, make or break. The future in itself rested on this event's shoulders. Suddenly however - no more similar to divine intervention, it all had been ripped away from him.

Yanked backwards, the initial struggle was always the most important. Attempting to kick, elbow, scratch, punch, pound; whatever gained freedom. A drug, yes, there was a drug wasn't there? In the form of a gas one could say. It had also a certain swiftness to it, his body becoming limp soon after. As his eyes slowly began to fade to black, the image of stardom leaving his sights appeared before him. "Please...don't go!"

. . .

His eyelids flung open, eyes darting around to take note of a scene unfamiliar to him. The gentle breeze, the warmth of the sun, the soft sensation that coursed throughout his being. It had all felt so...real..so unlike anything he'd experienced prior. Yet, despite the desire to admire this experience, something far more alarming presented itself; the ocean of bodies by his side. A shriek, general confusion and panic consuming his thoughts.

"Oh dear..what's...happened here?" He managed to quickly rise to his knees, tears immediately gathering in his eyes as he pondered life's events that brought him here. "What's going on!.." Collapsing to the ground, hugging his stomach, light sobs. The dolly gradually lifting the camera's view toward the horizon beyond.

End Scene.

She wasn't sure why hadn't left the first level yet. There were rumors going around that the gatekeeper was changing around now, and that there was an unlikely chance to know which gatekeeper they would actually be facing that day. A part of her wished that, in that case, she had fought when she still knew who her opponent was. On the other hand, Lilian was glad that the possibility of going into combat with an all-powerful Wicken was unlikely now.

Taking the chance to relax in picturesque Roslare, she was glad to finally have a chance for fresh air. Whether it was her being stupid or not, she wasn't sure, but too many adventures had taken place in the span of three weeks. She was tired of wandering around everywhere, fending off monster after monster without any chance to sit down and sleep quietly. Never mind the fact that a certain species could enter what was supposed to be called the 'safe-zone' and kill players while they were trying to slumber...

... Or not. Ratman had added yet another player to the bunch, and judging from their reaction upon waking up, it wasn't anything new. Everyone was like that when they first found out they were trapped in a video game. Or when they woke up with the memory of being kidnapped or in an accident. Or just, in general. Nothing about the predicament was a fun thing to open your eyes too, and Lilian found it less than fortunate that nobody else was around to handle helping out the new player.

She didn't want to ruin the one day that she was hoping to have off for a bit. Tch, oh well. Can't be helped. With an exasperated sigh, the blonde walked over to the new player, the name label shimmering above them to reveal their name.

Addison. A mage.

This wasn't something she wanted to get used to being able to recognize. Not to mention that she wasn't really sure what to say either, now that she was actually this close. "Err..." That's probably not the best way to start a conversation with a crying person. "Are you alright, Addison?" Generic, lame question. It was the best she could come up with, but really, the other player looked anything but alright.

Scene 2.

The city..it speaks to me.

Chaos erupts, the streets rumbling and aggressively shaking with the panicked footsteps of those crimson-dipped citizens within. They all rush, to what destination they are unsure. Death looms over those unfortunate souls, trapped in this endless cycle; fear in rotation. Yes, it's core began to pulse wildly, said pulses gaining strength with every second that passed. The skies seemed to all but fade away as darkness assumed it's place as god of this city. This all occurring while their host - the world they reside in formerly known as Addison, respectively lost his shit.

. . .

Fading out of black. The scene returns to our protagonist collapsed on the ground; tears now drenching the surface. "What do I do?...Ugh! I supposed to be going out with Tanner tonight to celebrate!" The crying seemed to cease, he hadn't any left to spare. With sore eyes, he stared blankly at the ground and continued to recall the events that brought him here. Just what had he done - and to whom, to deserve such a cruel fate?

Step.

It appeared he hadn't the time to do so, a presence was steadily approaching. His entire being froze in fear. Should he run? Should he scream? Would anyone hear or see him had he done either? As the noise grew closer, his head jolted upward toward the cause as his eyes widened in shock. It was--...a seemingly regular looking girl? This was indefinitely more jarring than any horrific anomaly could've been. With fear drenching his being, he began hurriedly backing up; his voice shaking as he spoke.

"W-who are you? Are you the one that brought me here?! What is this place?!" Fear does a lot of things to a lot of people, more specifically feed them with a false sense of duty, an unwelcomed courage. "I swear if you are I'll . . I'll . . . I'll have you arrested when I get out of here! You won't get away with this, you know! They'll find out I'm missing and you'll be in so so much trouble!"

A flurry of words welcomed her, panicked and in terror over everything around. Lilian jumped back for a few moments, holding her hands up at face-level, almost as though she were admitting guilt to a crime that she definitely didn't commit. Dealing with people who were emotionally overwhelmed was never quite her forte, and while she liked to think she could get along with them well, in these cases... Not so much. This was why she had a tendency to avoid the fountain. On the one day that she had chosen to cross her fingers in hopes that a new player wouldn't be there, someone that she would have to greet to this mess, there just so happened to be a stranger right there, bawling their eyes out and blaming her for the kidnap.

"Jeez, hold on before you start pointing fingers at me," she started, her voice coming out much harsher than she intended. In response to her own words, Lilian winced. Taking a deep breath, she inched a little bit closer - but not enough that she would be invading the other player's personal space - before bending down to eye level. The new mage had rather pretty, glossy eyes, and within them, she could see her own face and blue eyes reflected back at her. Part of her wondered if it was because of the tears that her reflection was showing up so clearly, but that wasn't exactly the sort of thing she should've been thinking about now, was it?

Her hands placed themselves on her lap delicately as she knelt down. "Okay, I know this is going to be hard to believe, but just listen for a bit." She could feel a vein pop on her forehead in irritation at all of the accusations she was listening to. How in the world could anyone piece together that she was a kidnapper? She didn't even look the part at all.

"You're trapped here. In a video game. We're not getting out unless one of the kidnapped players beat it." Lilian made sure to enunciate her words, slowing her speech a little to make it easier for Addison to understand.

Her eyes dropped to the cobblestone ground for a second before rising back up to keep with eye contact. "I was kidnapped too, Addison." She was really hoping that the medieval aesthetic and fantasy outfits of everyone, including the NPCs that walked around and ignored them, was enough evidence to show that she was being serious. That, and that the new player was actually paying attention to everything around them.

Resume Scene. . . .
Scene 2.

To her own sporadic, swiftly spouted nonsense came a response of equal value - at least, in his mind that is. To whom would he mail this angry letter? Such "profound" statements and requests from her questionable person. Clearly, whomever sent her had a few screws loose in their own right. By the sound of it, she'd been relatively politely suggesting him to calm down... Never tell a drag queen to calm down. Tensions were high, emotions were the manifestation of entropy to say the least, and fear had such a sensual grasp on his very existence. Were his actions truly so unjustified?

"Listen? Listen?! I will do no such thing! Why would I listen to anything my captor has to sa--"

With just a few words, the entirety of the landscape around him ceased. Birds in mid flight, grass in mid sway, the townspeople in mid walk. Light itself stilled in awe of her statement. His eyes widened, body seeming to loosen whilst still yearning to be freed from fear's clutches."Oh..." For a fair amount of time he'd seen news of this spread throughout the interwebs. Countless disappearances without explanation why. Around this time as well, that...what was his name? Well, if he'd forgotten than it must've not been that importance. Regardless, he'd pushed this knowledge to the side; refusing to believe in the hype until proven otherwise.

. . . Well Addison? Here's otherwise.

"I..I don't understand all of it but I've gathered a gyst." Wiping the tears from his face, a few dry sobs emerged as he attempted to smile and fix his posture. "An elegant lady should never cry; it smears the make up." He gazed towards the female with an apologetic expression "I shouldn't have been so quick to assume. This...isn't my idea of a lady's night out." Now managing to stand to his feet, he brushed himself whilst surveying the scene. "My sincerest apologies for my behavior earlier. It is unbecoming as one such as I. I do hope that you'll find it in your heart to forgive me." Taking note of the high fantasy aesthetics backing their surrounding, he felt a wave of embarrassment brush over him.

"I almost feel foolish; one look around and I would've had my answer. So then, an introduction and questions are in order." He gripped at the tip of his skirt, curtsying and bowing his head. "You may call me Addison Morgan, it is nice to meet your acquaintance. Now...for my questions." He lifted his right index finger a few inches in front of his relatively shiny lips "Where are we? How did we get here? And most importantly?..."

Zoom out towards The Fountain Square, Addison's taller frame now relatively smaller as the citizens stalk about in the background. Addison looks towards the multitude of buildings with a perplexed expression upon his visage.

"Where can a girl get a bath? I feel disgusting."

End Scene.

Lilian visibly relaxed once the other person seemed to calm down, especially after the small fit that they had thrown earlier about listening to what she had to say. Inwardly, she was relieved that the other player had taken the words into account and more accurately assessed the situation; she wasn't very fond of the idea of being thought of as a kidnapper, never mind one associated with that hell of a Ratman holding them captive in this equally as awful cage... Well, actually, Project Aubade hadn't been that bad, thus far. It was very scenic and pretty, having clean air and a world with sights that couldn't be seen in the actual world. Under different circumstances, maybe she would've tried out the game. Too bad this was just a prison in the end.

Returning her own smile to Addison's, Lilian gave a few nods, but the more she listened, the more she really wished that the player would shut up. She had been counting how many seconds it would take for the mage to stop talking after what seemed like a minute or so passed. Was this a presentation or something? The only thing she was actually going to do was calm them down, give them a quick rundown, and then make her way back to her residence and sleep for the rest of the day or get a warm meal and drink at the pub. Hanging around the fountain was an awful idea in the first place.

Fanciful and mouthful of words were a culture she had grown up with, but after hanging out with the less... fortunate in the world, she couldn't help but think about how ridiculous it sounded. Father would definitely scold her if she criticized it though. Lillian got up as well once Addison had, feeling more inferior when she realized how tall the other player was. Returning the curtsy, she replied, "Lilian Vivaldi. Pleasure to make your acquaintance." Sort of. But she didn't add that last part. "Oh, and it's fine. Nothing to apologize for. Most people are like that when they enter this place." Which was why she didn't like being the one who greeted them. She didn't add that either.

Question after question, ones that were the usual that people would ask, but that last one surprised her. That... wasn't exactly what anyone would usually prioritize. "We're in a video game called Project: Aubade," Lilian started, taking another deep breath. She was in for a long ride, wasn't she? "All of the players were kidnapped by someone unknown and forced to play. We just call the man Ratman since we don't know who he is."

As for the last part... "We all have a 'home' in the capital city of the first level. You could get a shower there, but..." Her voice trailed off for a moment. "Maybe you feel uncomfortable since you're wearing clothes you're not used to?"

Scene 3.

Lilian Vivaldi.

Latin descent? Surely royalty of some kind, no? Befriending her may beckon forth a most delicious future.  Narrowing his eyes, he analyzed her being entirely. She's still some room to grow in a multitude of places. Her skin was soft to the touch, this he'd no need of touch to determine. Her eyes were radiant, illuminating, yet, why had he felt there was more to her than this? People of such nature were no more uncommon spiders or fish of the sea. . . Whilst they were still plentiful that is. Something else existed - rather, he'd sincerely hoped this wasn't all too her. She was to become his new friend, wasn't she? Whether she accepted it or not, he'd no intention of keeping the dull and humorless; regardless of strength.

She'd mentioned most people reacting the same way he had upon arriving here. This begged a question he felt may or may not be prying - of course, he was never one to entertain such trivial matters. "Dear Lilian . . " he paused, a certain stern expression plastered across his visage "Just how long have you been here, hun?" This hadn't been all however, more answers were given that required even more questioning on his end.

"We're in a video game?" He thought, pressing his hands against his face in embarrassment "Gracious, what would my girlfriends think of me if they saw this? Tanner wouldn't ever date me if he knew I played video games." He entered a thinking pose "Then again, modelling agencies adore the eccentric. Surely I could fancy this tragedy in my favor. All men love video games as well, Tanner would find my new attire absolutely to die for an--" A blush rocketed across him from one cheek to another. He was aware how odd me may've appeared to Lilian but again, it didn't phase him...much.

"Rat man?" A perplexed expression, he had to warm up his facial features somehow. "Sounds similar to the men who ran The Runway." Finally, she'd went on answered the most important question of all; a bath. The second half of the answer hadn't come to much of a shock to him as one might think. Indeed, he was adorning more medieval-styled clothing - though, this wasn't his primary objective. Bath first then change of attire, he was sure he could do something with these dreadful garbs. Giving a light sigh, he began to size up his own clothing prior to looking toward Lilian once more.

"I'll worry about this later, might you be able to take me to this "Capital" you speak of? Attempting to go anywhere myself might end in horrid results; especially for a beautiful woman such as myself."

From one moment, the other girl had been inspecting every inch of her from head to toe, taking in her features and checking her out, in a way, and then the next, they were thinking about something she wasn't able to pinpoint from all of the expressions and gestures that Addison was making. Nonetheless, Lilian awkwardly waited, pulling up her UI to check the time and rummage through her inventory. The interface popped up, a 2D surface hovering in the air, her fingers tapping on a few tabs here and there. Funny how she hadn't know how to open this thing up at all, and now, it was practically second-nature. She was starting to get too used to this, and Lilian wasn't really fond of that.

Once Addison had stopped speaking, making several different remarks here and there, she had opted to simply answer them in one go instead of trying to cut in and run multiple conversations at once and risk making it more difficult for them in the long run. It'd be easier this way, so long as she made sure to pay attention and take mental notes of what exactly was being asked. That wasn't anything different from memorizing facts at school for tests. "I guess I've been here for about 3 weeks. Maybe a little bit longer," she answered, a bit flustered that she had forgotten when exactly this all started. "I woke up with a lot of other people though, and we were the first batch of players."

With a nod, she gestured for the mage to follow her. "It'd be kind of funny if there was someone at the Runway named Ratman. We kind of just started calling him that." Lilian didn't quite know where exactly the name originated from, but she had to assume that it was the gathering that she had skipped. The same night that the 'originals' were trapped inside. it was quite a mess of a gathering, so she was glad she didn't go to the chapel. Arguments were the last thing she wanted to hear after waking up in an unknown place without a clue as to what to do.

"We're actually in the capital right now. It's a safe-zone, for the most part," she explained, musing to herself about how silly it must be for a video game amateur like her to be telling someone how this game worked. As they weaved their way around the area, the grand castle grew closer in view, and several others that would have designated it as the capital in the first place. All around, NPCs bustled with business, gardens with flora found nowhere else - intricate and delicately designed -, and several others. Not many other players were in sight, though.

Addison was kind of... narcissistic. A bit of a primadonna. Lilian was used to those kinds of people at school and elsewhere, but the chances of running into one in the game seemed somewhat low since most would be nerds who went to conventions or shut-ins who didn't do anything else but play video games and be lazy all day. It didn't take very long for them to reach the local residencies, a line of one-floored houses for each and every player.

Clearing her throat, Lilian continued, "You saw the castle earlier, but there's really nothing but NPCs there. It's pretty, though." She hadn't talked this much ever since she got into the game. "There's a pub and a lot of other things too. Your house is one of these over here, and it should have your name on it."

Resuming Scene . . .
Scene 3.

Time had casually waltzed about, adrift the calm seas at it's own pace. Within this vast body of existence came the ever-divulging conversation between players Addison and Lilian. Sporadic, leaking entropy initially, it molded and shifted into a rather pleasant experience all around. Whilst lacking knowledge of this game, Addison felt as if he'd gained more knowledge on this individual before him. It brought a great deal of comfort to his soul knowing he wasn't alone in this, that every single player here was just like him...kidnapped.

That very fact both shocked and scared him, dearly so.

Abducted - often by force, and brought to this unknown location through means similar. Parents, brothers, sisters, children even. Each and every player pressed forward with those back home in mind. Regardless of their reasoning however, one common goal seemed to exist in all of their hearts; completing this game. Though, this all was noted from mere speculation of his environment and conversing with Lilian. The validity of such statements remained to be seen.

Another time, perhaps during his bath. . . Speaking of such . .

They'd grazed the streets, shifting and sifting about. Addison witnessed beauty in forms thought unfathomable until this day. To live in such an area would bring inspiration for fashion designs untouched by man. Of course, this wasn't man-made was it? Every blade of grass, every insect, every fraction of warmth that gently embraced the skin; fictitious. Virtual Reality was no different than reality in itself - nay, one should consider it better. Natural disasters don't exist unless programmed to occur, war only occurs for sport, life is truly wonderful.

"Why does this feel so..wrong?" He thought to himself as he'd found himself before the local residences. He'd been informed of The Castle, The Pub, and a few other things he'd be sure to explore in his free time. "Finally, my long awaited bath." He swiftly took Lilian's hand, sprinting from house to house until finally coming across his own. Frowning at the sight of it, he placed his hand upon his hip before letting go of her hand. "Ugh, drab and dreary, exactly what we're not about to have here! Oh, ma belle maison, you will soon be perfect." As he steadily approached the door, he turned back with wide smile stretched across his visage. "You'll wait for me, won't you dear? I'll just be a moment, freshen up and what not; you know how ladies are. Feel free to come inside if you'd like." Opening the door, he let out a sigh and gazed at freshly groomed prison cell.

"Alright, Addison...let's do this."

Fade to black as Addison enters his new residence, the camera zooming out to gain a view of the horizon as the door closes behind him; Lilian standing before it.

End Scene.

PostSubject: Re: Era of The Madonna [ Open ]   Era of The Madonna [ Open ] Icon_minitimeMon May 08, 2017 10:00 pm

Her hand was snatched - why did people like grabbing everyone's hands so much in this game? Didn't they know personal space? -, and Addison had dragged her down the line of identical buildings, running and sprinting, and while Lilian could keep up with the pace through her own endurance, she hadn't really felt in the mood for running. Once they had started, her breath was snatched away from her, and it took a good few moments before she managed to regain it, controlling it and regulating it with more caution. By the time they had finally made it to Addison's house, she looked only a tiny bit worse for wear, but otherwise, she didn't seem tired at all. With both of her hands back, she dusted off her dress while the other player opened the door.

The insides certainly weren't anything luxurious or glamorous, nothing that would match all of the fancy decor and crystal chandeliers at home, but it was still commodious. They looked the same as her own place, though Lilian had spent some time reorganizing and refurbishing her own surroundings a bit. A wave of nostalgia entered when she saw the room untouched, and she couldn't pinpoint whether it was the good sort of nostalgia or the bad sort. With a feverish nod, she stepped inside, taking a seat at the velvet red couch to the side.

It was soft and plush, rather comfortable, though the material clearly wasn't high-quality. At the very least, it was suitable and did its job, so that was enough. "Take your time," she called, watching Addison's figure fade to the other room. For now, she was alone, in someone else's house, without anything to do. The clock pendulum in the background swung back and forth, filling the muteness of the atmosphere.

She had sat obediently for awhile, but the longer she waited, the longer she couldn't sit still. Flicking open her UI once more, she materialized her bow on her lap, the slick polished surface of the curved weapon dirtied from overuse. Lilian plucked her handkerchief from one of her pockets, working to clean it and then later readjust the string to make sure that it was still strong. For a few moments, she considered humming to help break the silence, but then she remembered there was someone else around.

Right.

Humming would be a bad idea. So she continued to work in silence, waiting for Addison to come out, wondering why she was still here. She could easily leave if she wanted to. Actually... Why am I still here? Doing something else was fine. She did what she had to do for a new player. That was set and final, right? Ugh, whatever. It might be worth a bit of time. Everyone she had interacted with was too accustomed to gaming. Maybe Addison was someone sane.

Scene 4: Medieval Is The New Black

Drab & Dreary, an overstatement of the highest caliber. The simplicity of it may have been suitable for those engorging even the smallest fractions of lore - however, he was no such being. A general disappointment washed over him as his gaze traveled from wall to wall. Mentally he'd grafted a plethora of blueprints, things to change over the time spent here. How long would he be here exactly? From Lilian's explanation, the estimated time of departure simply wasn't; eternity suddenly hadn't seemed so far-fetched anymore. Baby steps, Addison, baby steps. One must focus on that current task at hand... hygiene.

He wasted no time in rummaging through the things supplied for him. "Hmm.. enough to work with I guess." Swiftly, he retreated to the bathroom, the door slamming behind him as sounds of a bath running followed shortly after. "Now then.." he whispered to himself. He lightly stretched, carefully lifting his wig from his head and placing it to the side. Following this, he'd begun to slowly remove the remainder of the clothing; analyzing the fabric and matching it with any possible design concepts in the future. "I'll figure out a style for you yet." After eventually fully undressing ( and the make up removal process that came with it ), he found himself sinking into not only the tub but his inner conscious.

"Is this really okay? To be so casually bathing my troubles away? I've been abducted, sent into a video game, and trapped within." He groaned "After I'd finally started to get this right in my life."His knees rose, hugging them lightly as he buried his face betwixt them. A light sobbing could be heard from outside of the bathroom as he continued to whisper to himself. "I'll become the world's next top model and show everyone!" He scoffed "Yeah, you sure showed them, Addison. You can't even keep yourself from getting stuck in situations like this." Prior events - or at least what he remembered, played like a projection screen against the wall.

"You are no son of mine." A fairly built hand slams against a granite surface "I did not raise a hideous thing such as yourself! You adorn the culture and lifestyle of a woman despite biologically being born for supremacy; not subservience! This repulsive phase of yours will bring about nothing but despair. Can you not see what you've done to us? Your mother can't even stand the sight of you!" Tears cascade down his cheek, he yearns for it to stop yet the film continues to roll. "Vermin like you are better off dea--" The sound of a hand roughly striking the skin echoes throughout the vicinity, the scene fades to black as an elderly woman comes into focus.

. . .

The door to the bathroom slowly opens, steam rushing from the entrance and rushing forth as the individual stepped out [ wrapped in a towel (current appearance) ]"Forgive me, darling, every woman needs a moment or two to let it all out, you know?" He shook the remaining water from his hair, said hair bouncing back and forth as it sprayed in it's respective directions. "Give me just a moment to put something together and I'll be right with you." This of course took it's own fair chunk of time but hadn't taken nearly as long as the bath. In time, he returned to her with wig back on; his hair [ fashioned together with a bow ].

"Well then, if this is a game then I suppose we should start with a basics." He took a seat next to her, folding one leg over the other prior to placing his hands atop his lap. "I am at your mercy, hun."

Era of The Madonna [ Open ] Empty
PostSubject: Re: Era of The Madonna [ Open ]   Era of The Madonna [ Open ] Icon_minitimeTue May 09, 2017 11:14 pm

Soon enough, Addison had come out of the bath, but by the time that the other player had, Lilian was already finished with polishing her bow, moving onto the individual arrows kept in the container attached to her belt. There was a good amount of blood and other debris that had gathered on the projectiles, and the more she kept thinking about it, the more she figured that maybe a gun or a weapon that used mana as its resource income would be better. At least, in the game, she didn't have to go around and find all of her arrows like she would in the real world; they all returned to her inventory without fail each and every time. Bless that feature - she'd miss it when she had to go hunting with her father again.

Though, as quickly as the mage had appeared, he had disappeared back inside. The blonde nodded, once again saying, "Take all the time you need!" Within that allocated time period, she finished cleaning the rest of her arson with pleasure. Maybe later she'd make them squeaky clean, but for now, keeping them nice and shiny was enough. Besides, if she made it to the next level, she could probably get rid of them for a newer weapon. Emphasis on probably.

Addison had come out once again, finally taking a seat right beside her. Oh, the thought rang into her head. I have to explain the game. Everything had grown warm, her palms sweaty, and she couldn't help but feel nervous or figure out a way to get out of this. Her hand was coming up with a bunch of excuses that she could say: 'Oh, I have a meeting with some other players now!' or 'I'm short on time since I have a quest to finish!' or anything that would let her get away from this situation. She was the last person to ask to detail what the game was like. Her lack of knowledge on video games was second to none.

Gulping, Lilian heaved a deep breath. She could do this. All she had to do was explain a few things here and there, right? Besides, Addison would run into other players that would know how to illustrate the situation better. "So..." she started, her voice immediately trailing off. Think, you idiot, the devil inside her head chided. Taking another breath, she forced herself to steel her nerves. She was just overreacting and making this more difficult than it should be. It wasn't that bad.

"There are five levels in the game that we have to beat. We're on the first right now." was what she managed to get out once she figured out a direction to take the discussion in. "To get to the next level, there's this gatekeeper boss you have to beat before they let you pass. It's like this for every level." Was she forgetting something? She was definitely forgetting something. Oh, right! "Ah, and you don't have to fight the boss alone. It can be done in groups of three for safety, if you want."

Lilian crossed her fingers. Hopefully there weren't too many questions.

Oh . . dearest Lilian, what pain you've yet to endure. . .

As of this present moment in time she'd explained about... 20% of the questions he'd had. Crossing his legs, he re-positioned himself whilst Lilian finished speaking. For the moment, he'd taken in this information and had been pondering over it. An intimidating silence washed over the vicinity as his thought continued, crossing his arms and focusing in order to produce responses and questions that weren't entirely irrelevant to the main topic. As a light-bulb seemingly flickered on above his head, he gazed towards Lilian; preparing for the onslaught of speech to come.

"So you've told me the overall goal of the game. There are five levels, you beat the gatekeepers within those levels to ascend to higher levels. Currently, we exist on the first level of the game; we're the weakest of the weak. Of course, it is to be expected for myself but. . " A look of compassion and worry plastered his visage "I take it you haven't been working yourself too hard, dear?" He returned to the expression prior "Moving on, you've said that we're not entirely forced to work alone; parties of three being able to take the gatekeeper on at once. This game has some form of party system, that's reassuring to say the least. Guilds? No, judging the content of this character, Ratman isn't the type to give us that much". This was just the basis however, a small puzzle piece of the bigger picture.

"I suppose that isn't too overbearing, though I feel almost naked even within these garbs." He stood up, attempting to access what he would've thought was a menu. After a few attempts, he'd managed to do so; a few items being listed on the screen. "So I'm a Mage, am I? Fitting for such an elegant woman of my intellectual brilliance!~" Realizing she'd still been watching, he coughed and shifted focus back to the present topic.

"I would like to learn how combat works within this game. Not only that, where would I discover the starter and or tutorial quests that many MMORPGs are famous for. I know this is some kind of corrupted game but they've at least got the basics, no? I wasn't very experienced in this kind of thing back when I played them." That was a lie, he loved playing MMOs; he just wasn't any good at them. "I trust you'll come with me, won't you hun? Now that you've taught me so much," He reached forward and grabbed her hands "I couldn't possibly leave your side now!"

Again with the rambling. Addison really talked a lot, enough that each splurge of words only served to get on each and every one of Lilian's nerves, and she wasn't sure how that could have been the case when the other player was only verifying what was being explained. There was a phrase of concern for her own well-being in there, but before she could get the chance to answer, the mage had already moved onto the next point. Her face twitched with annoyance, fingers tapping the cushion in an attempt to distract herself from her own thought processes. People normally didn't talk this much, right? If they did, it was eerily reminiscent to those nobles back at home who really couldn't get enough of themselves. And here she thought that she had finally escaped listening to those drags.

Once Addison stood up, Lilian felt compelled to do the same, her body itching to get a move on instead of sitting oh-so-still. From the couple of tries it took the newbie to get the user interface up to the whole insistence on learning about the combat of the game to... to... What was Addison doing? Blue eyes widened, a look of shock spreading over her features as her hands were snatched up. Too close. What was it with these people and getting into others' personal space? Especially this close. A hue of red tinted her cheeks, the words stuttering themselves out weakly, "U-Uhm, w-w-well..." Pulling her hands away, she spun on her heel, her back bluntly facing the mage as her hands busied themselves with straightening out her skirt. It wasn't like she was doing that to distract herself and regain her composure or anything. Not at all.

Her mind replayed everything that the other player had said through her head, carefully assessing the best way to approach this next. She probably forgot a few details, but that didn't matter too much, did it? Bringing a bunched up fist up to her lips, Lilian cleared her throat. It was embarrassing how easily flustered she could get, especially around random strangers. "A-anyway," she started, "I haven't done that much in the game. There are others working a lot harder." She opted not to mention the good handful of near-death experiences she already encountered just from exploring the environment on the first level. "There's no real party system since everything is done by hand-shake agreements." That was the best way she could put it, for now.

Lilian ignored the self-indulgent comment about how fitting being a mage was. "As for combat..." She sucked at that. It was just the luck of the draw that she turned out to be using a bow and arrow, something that she was used to doing from family activities. "Probably best to ask someone else about that. I've never played video games before this." She was too busy with a full schedule in more areas of expertise than to spend her precious time on some stupid, lazy-ass toy.

"To be honest, I wouldn't recommend playing this with me." This was kind of hard to admit. "I'm awful at games and would get us both killed." The mere idea of being bad at something made her more frustrated than how talkative Addison was. That in itself was a bad reference point, however. She loathed that she didn't know what to do and had to rely on the other players to assist her.

Intensity gathered from deep within his very being, rising steadily up until it neared the light above. Excitedly, it increased in it's motions at frighteningly alarming rates. As it neared the light, it made one final stretch before erupting without hesitation; all manifested within Addison's gaze as it met with Lilian's. He'd noticed her visage become flushed - however, the denser side of him wasn't intuitive enough to cease his actions. She'd swiftly released her hands from his grasp, spinning about until bluntly facing him to speak.

She appeared to have been disturbed by something; what could it have been?

No matter, it couldn't have possibly been anything he'd done.

She'd began to note on the progress she'd made within this game. As it seemed, she hadn't been doing much to contribute to the overall completion of this game; there were others with skills far superior to her own. His prior theory on parties had been shattered as she mentioned the usage of a simple handshake to signify the cooperation of players. Slightly, his eye twitched at the sound of this; his mind in disarray with thoughts of betrayal in a multitude of fashions. As it appeared, he'd have to keep his wits about him; even with this pretty little thing before him.

When it came to combat, she was relatively inexperienced; or at least that's what she stated. She'd never played video games prior to this, something that both had and hadn't shocked him. When thrust in a situation such as this, adapting is paramount to survival. Whether you are a die-hard, casual, or simply don't play them at all. You've no choice but to play this..."Ratman's" game - that is, unless you preferred the more deadly alternative. Though, while she'd mentioned how accompanying her through this game wouldn't be advised, he felt compelled to actively refute that notion.

"Nonsense, darling!" Yet again he'd closed the gap between the two, grasping her hands and holding them close to him with a wide smile stretching across the canvas that was his visage. "I surely would've been in a much worse situation had I not discovered you, no? You're my good luck charm, my guardian angel. Besides . . " A more serious, relatively saddened and helpless expression upon him " . . you're kind of the only chance I've got here. Despite my eccentricity you spoke to me, treated me as if I were no different from you. That is not a quality I will find in others; only you." He shrugged lightly "You're the only friend I've got here. I may not understand everything yet, hun, but give me time. Surely, I'll become a woman you can depend on."
