Gabe sat on a small bench in the busy market square of the town. He hadn't really done much besides go looking for information on the game. While some of it had been worth while other of it was just some common knowledge that didn't really help anything. He almost had enough bits to get the ticket to challenge the first boss, but he wasn't sure. He didn't want to go into it without knowledge, but there wasn't really anyone to talk to about that yet.

Maybe he could talk to someone and get some personal information out of them? Use that to his advantage for later.. He wanted to get out of this game as soon as possible but the limitations in life made his usual riskiness sit back to the tactician side of him. He could possible try to pry the boss information out of someone who had fought the boss already if they hadn't died. If they came back at all after beating the boss that is..

The brown haired boy let out a small hum as he opened his UI once again staring at the thing that hadn't changed ever since he got here. The only thing that changed was when he got a scrape and it showed him where. But that was healed so there was nothing new now. Gabriel closed his UI and let out another sigh, trying to figure out what to do.

Nobody had beat the gate yet. There were a few players who had ended up getting enough bits to challenge the gatekeeper. From what it sounded like, they were on their way there at the moment and possibly in the middle of the fight. Who knows? The ticket itself cost 0.05 kilobytes or, well, 50 bits, and she wasn't really sure if it was worth it or not at this point. Not a single player from the original group seemed to have died or lost a life yet, sure, but it sounded risky. Would this be the turning point? Ugh, why was she even having these doubts? She wanted to get out of the game, and if she didn't muster up her courage to fight, then she wouldn't ever get out.

The marketplace was filled with all sorts of concessions and stands selling a dozen of different kinds of merchandise that she wasn't really sure of their purpose. She still didn't get anything about RPGs or, well, pretty much anything else about the game. The skills listed in the interface - which she had barely learned how to open - all looked too confusing to bother with. Couldn't she just shoot a bunch of arrows and hope for the best? That would work, right? Humans were capable of being smarter than a string of codes. It was definitely the truth that everyone kept saying in technology time and time again. Some stupid CPU wasn't going to stop her.

Most of the people around were NPCs. Of course they made the place look busy. There weren't enough players to crowd the areas yet. Ratman was still adding more people. It'll be flooded eventually, as much as she hated to admit it. Why hadn't the authorities caught someone like him yet? Though, it seemed there was another player in the area. A brown-haired boy with yellow eyes, looking as though he was minding his own business.

Yeah, except not anymore. "Hey, you." Her voice was rigid yet silvery, her fingers reaching out to tap his shoulder. "What are all of these items here anyway?" After that near-death encounter with a bunch of Wickens, it was probably a good idea to find out all of the healing items and other knicknacks available. Outside of the complimentary potions provided in their inventory, at least.

Having to be a dork that loves video games Lucian didn't know how to feel about being entered in the world, he loved playing video games like this one. It took him away from reality, if he could he would spend all day locked in his room playing this. Sure it was true that he was stripped away from his real life, but his family was here. Ren was his only sister, the only piece of family he had left. Other then that they weren't living to great either with money being tight and all..  He stuffed his hands in his pockets, whistling softly as he walked through the market square. He didn't really see where he was walking and bumped into a fellow player.

Shocked he quickly gave him an apology. "Sorry man" He didn't even notice the other player, with a small shrug he gave both of them a wave of his hand.

Gabe's yellow eyes flicked upwards when the girl tapped him on the shoulder to get his attention. As much as he didn't want to get broken out of his thoughts at the moment, he couldn't simply ignore this girl. That would be a wasted opportunity.

He opened his mouth to explain what he knew about certain items when another person bumped into him. While he wanted to glare at the boy he couldn't do that because that wouldn't be friendly. "It's alright man." Gabe responded with a small smile before turning back to the girl.

"Well you have your set weapon that you got based on the class you were assigned." Gabriel opened up his UI and pointed to his weapon which was a spear seeing how he was a lancer. "Then you have your health potions for when your hp gets low." He didn't really have many other items, so if she had something extra he would have to take a look. "I know there are some outfit changes you can do so maybe there will be more armor available to us in the future, or other beneficial items if this is like the typical rpg game." Gabe closed his UI after he finished explaining what he knew about the items.

"I don't have much, but if you have something in specific, I can try to help you figure it out." The brown haired boy explained.

He didn't understand her question clearly. Great, Lilian grumbled to herself. So the other player went on and on about explaining a few things that she already ended up finding out through light reading or having to force herself to learn it through some very questionable experiences that could have probably been avoided if she decided to stay in Roslare and let the rest of the group finish the game for her. They'd be free if just one person managed to beat the fifth level, right? In the end, it might be better to let other people do the dirty work for her.

Father would scold her for letting that happen, though, but... It wouldn't be too bad. Everything he urged her to try her best at wasn't ever life-threatening. Maybe it kind of decided the entirety of her future, but it wasn't like she wouldn't be alive in those cases. "Actually, I already knew all of that," she replied with a subtle edge of haughtiness, hands on her hips. "I was wondering about the items being sold out here." Lilian clutched a golden apple around her hand, juggling it up and down.

Some guy had bumped into them, and the only thing he could say was sorry. Seriously? Putting the apple back on the stand, she went over and tapped the other player. "That's all you have to say for yourself? Aren't you even gonna stop for a bit to make a bit of conversation?"

He was always the more quiet in the bunch, he figured that no one mind if he just left.

However that wasn't the case, the other guy seemed to be quick to forgive however... eyes flickered over towards the other person. She seemed irritated, why did it matter for him to stick around in the first place? He had no idea what the two were talking about and he had some other things to do. With a soft chuckle he scratched his head with his hand, a nervous habbit that Lucian developed. "Heh.. sorry" He repeated a small blush flushing onto his face and gave the two a smile. "Names Lucian, Luce for short."

Gabriel's expression turned into a embarrassed smile as he rubbed the back of his head slightly. "Whoops, sorry I didn't understand the question at first." He said. "You have your regular potions that restore some health, golden potions restore your health fully. I believe there are different type of traps sold here, I don't know what the golden apples are for. I haven't had a chance to ask." He wasn't even sure if the vendors knew what they were for.

Gabe turned his yellow eyes towards Luce. "Nice to meet you Luce, I'm Gabe." It had his full name above his head, but he didn't mind the nickname.

She nodded with each statement, a look of understanding washing over her features. So the potions seemed pretty important, but the apples... Might just be normal apples that were colored to look pretty and shiny. The price tag on them was too high - no way would she be ripped off by something like this. Did NPCs even need to rip off customers? They technically didn't have homes or anything and they were always secure with their job because other NPCs and players came to them. What is with games? At least the traps sounded useful. She could make use of those.

Once the other guy had responded, introducing himself as Luce and then Gabe following after, Lilian did the same with a curtsey, "Lilian. Pleasure to make your acquaintance." Damn. Old habits really did die hard.

Things weren't as bad as Lucian thought. He was only in the game for a few days and he already met some kind-hearted people, he was glad. A smile appeared on his face as he listened to Gabe talk. So potions were sold here huh? That would come in handy later down the road he supposed. The tall boy had glanced around hoping to find something to talk about, he was always awkward to small talk. He cleared his throat "Haha! You to, Im sure we can be great help to each other down the line..!" As he heard the words come out from his mouth he felt a little awkward about saying it.
